Saturday’s Rugby

SECOND ROUND COMMENCED The Manawatu Rugby Union’s senior competition is so arranged that the final championship winner for the season is not found until tho end of tho games. The competition is divided into two rounds and the winners of each play off the final. Kia Toa emerged as winners of the first round, but the goiug will be much harder for them in the second series of games, as all tho other teams are showing very much improved form. The programme of games for the commencement of tho second round next Saturday is a very attractive one. At the Showgrounds the main game is Old Boys v. University, while Feildiug will try conclusions with Kia Toa in a Jubilee cup match as curtain-raiser at Johnston Park, Fcilding. Patrons should witness a very fast match between St. Patrick’s and Feilding Old Boys, both of which teams can bo relied upon to throw tho ball around.
