From Our Own Correspondent. Tennis Dance Tho weather could scarcely have been more unfavourable on Monday evening, when the Kairanga Tennis Club held their season-ending dance, but despite rain and wind quit© a number of patrons gathered. The orchestra played with extra vim as if in defiance of the elements, tills contributing considerably to the success of the evening. After supper Air. G. Davey presented the trophies competed for last year. The ladies' rosebowi for handicap singles went to Miss N. Lewis; the men’s cup to Air. D. Mildon. Aliniatures for previous holders of these trophies were presented to Mis 6 !•. Egiinton and Mr. 1. Davey. Alessrs. .Mildon and Davey briefly expressed their thanks. Lucky dances were won by Aliss S. Thomson and Air. T. Rasmussen, and Aliss A. Cooper partnered by Air. Bridar. Among those present were Alisses A. Herrick, wearing black lace; J. Newman, red figured velvet; 1. Aleager, rust lace; 8. Tnomson, black taffeta; E. Boddy, cyclamen georgette; D. Clark, gold w ila mauve; T. Davey, blue floral taffeta; J. Kilgour, cyclamen marocain; N. Beattie, blue chateau crepe; A. Cooper, luschia taffeta; M. Morgan, floral figured taitelu; J. Campbell, blue velvet; H. Hall, floral taffeta; S. Herrick, pink lace; F. Egiinton, blue floral taffeta; Mesdames Reg. Aiorgan, white satin; F. Payne, cyclamen taffeta and black velvet; W. d© Vantier, win© crepe; G. Davey, wine velvet. U*ie raffle for the framed note was won by Air. G. Davies. A special trophy donated by the tennis club for the most regular attender at club afternoons was won by Alisa J. Newman. Personal Air. N. Hyde and Miss G. Hyde are holidaying in the north.
