Championship Trials
SOUTH ISLAND AND NEW ZEALAND DOGS CHRISTCHURCH, June 20. The South Island and New Zealand championship dog trials were continued at Tai Tapu to-day in cold, showery weather. The South Island long head championship was won by E. G. Rutherford’s (Parnassus) Star, with 58$pts., J. Milligan ’s (Fairlie) Miss Mac being second with oSpts., and A. T. Miller’s (Southland) Glen third with 57$pts. M. A. M. Theson’s (Middlemarch) .Berwick Don 56$pts., J. W. Gaveston’s (Waipukurau) Dick, 56pts., W. Dam-pier-Crosslcy’s (Rotherham) Duke, oopts. and J. Mcßae’s Whitney Dick 35pts. were the next four highest scoring dogs. The seven dogs ran off for the New Zealand longhead championship and the total points aggregated the result: Mcßae’s Whitney Dick llOJpts., 1; McGaveston’s Dick, 108£pts., 2; Damp-ier-Crossley’s Duke, 107pts., 3; Milligan’s Miss Mac, 106Jpts., 4.
