Cow Run Down on Highway

OWNER FAILS IN HIS CLAIM At the Feilding Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning W. C, Lee, of Feilding, proceeded against J. L. Macßeynolds claiming £l7 19s 4d for the loss of a cow in milk, alleging that it was due to negligence on the part of one of defendant’s employees who, when driving a motor-lorry in the course of his employment, ran into plaintiff’s cow on the Awahuri Road, the beast dying from injuries received. After hearing the evidence the Magistrate, Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., found that plaintiff had not established negligence on the part of the defendant’s employee and entered judgment for defendant. Plaintiff was ordered to pay Court costs amounting to £4 10s. At the hearing Mr. T. L. Seddon appeared for plaintiff and Mr. D. C. Cullinane for the defendant.
