Stock Sale
ASHHURST HEIFER PAIR Dalgety and Company Limited (Inc. in England), report on the annual sale held at the Ashhurst salcyards on Wednesday last in fine weather before a good attendance of buyers. Our offering comprised 135 head, which included several pens of good quality heifers. The bulk of the entry was not early calvers, nevertheless, competition was good and we report practically a total clearance at prices fully on a par with recent sales. A specially advertised lino of pedigree heifers offered on account of Mr W. Anderson, Aokautero made from 8§ to 10 guineas. The following is a range of prices:— Singles and small lots, good quality, *£B to £lO ss; truck lots, £7 to £8; late calvers, £6 to £7; backward heifers* small, £5 to £6. The ordinary fortnightly stock sale was also held in conjunction with the rale, when only a small yarding of fat cattle and stores came forward. Realisations were right up to late Tates and a good sale resulted.
