Havoc of Neurosis Worse Than Cancer

EMERGENCY PRECAUTIONS LONDON, May 25. Special departments, controlled by neurologists, are to be installed in casualty hospitals to deal with bombshocked civilians in war time, according to a Government plan. In making this announcement, the Minister of Health, Mr Walter Elliott, added that mental hospital clinics had been increased by 50 per cent in the last four years, but a war would bo an immense additional strain. The Director of the National Medical Psychology Institute, Dr. J. R. Rees, said that cancer was child’s play compared with neurosis. It was responsible for more invalidism and economic wastage.
