Fig.—a—Keeping Count of Your Stamps
Here you see a practical little thing, useful for all who collect stamps. It can easily be left in your album or dup Heated book, and with it you can keep count of how many stamps you possess. Tho mechanism consists of four cardboard disks of different sizes, each of them marked at the edge with the figures from 0 to 9. The disks are held together with an ordinary clip—4. A cardboard finger, see 2 and 3, is attached to the disks with the same clip. Fig. 5 shows a section, A being tho finger, and B, C, D and E tho four disks. Count your stamps and turn the disks so that they show the total. The apparatus on fig. 1 is turned to the figures 2826. If your collection is very big yet another disk can be put in to that it can show numbers of over four figures. Later when you add one or more new stamps to your collection it is an easy matter to adjust the middle disk so that the new total is shown. In this way it is always easy to see how many stamps there are in your collection.
Fig—b—A pair of Homemade Roller Skates Carefully made, these can easily compete with more expensive ones with regard to speed. If you have four wheels from an old pair of roller skates you can use them, otherwise you must buy four new ones. Cut two pieces of hard wood exactly the width of the sole of your shoes, but four inches longer. Round .the ends, and then make a slit at each end as wide as the wheels. Holes should be bored for bolts which will fit the wheels and act as axles. Put a washer at each side of the wheels so that they run clear of the sides of the slit. Screw four small metal angle irons on—V, as supports for the feet, and on e-ach of the skates screw a strap —R to the edges so that they can be tightened over the instep.
