Date Fixed for By-election
ARRANGEMENTS UNDER WAY Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An announcement that the byelection of th'o Parliamentary member for Christchurch South, following the death of Mr. E. J. Howard, would be on Saturday, June 3, was made this evening by the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage.) Th«e writ will be issued on Monday, May 15, and tho roJl will close at 0 p.m. on that day. The lalcst day for the nomination of candidates will be Monday, May 22.
