Feilding Borough Council

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Feilding Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. T. L. Seddon, presiding. There were also present Crs. A. C. Buist, A. C. McCorkindale, A. J. Humphreys, P. B. Desmond, W. W. Andrews, R. Burne, P. G. Guy, C. B. McClure and V. E. Smith. In connection with the alteration of the borough boundaries consequent upon the exclusion of a certain area, the result of a petition of ratepayers, the Mayor and town clerk were appointed to confer with the Oroua County Council with a view to completing the necessary agreement in terms of section 151 of the Municipal Corporation Act.

The council confirmed tho action of the finance committee in granting a carrier’s license to Mr. W. Hunt.

A grant of £2 2s was made to the Feilding branch of the Workers’ Educational Association, while a grant of £2O was made to the Plunket Society.

A cash statement of the finances as at April 30 showed that the borough had a net debit balance of £7OO 3s Id, the payments to that date amounting to £3478 5s 2d and the receipts, including £1507 8s 9d brought forward, amounting to £2778 2s Id.
