Human Jawbone Unearthed
WORKMEN'S DISCOVERY Per Pres. As.oclation. AUCKLAND, Last Night. A human jawbone and several smaller bones were uncovered by workmen engaged on levelling sections behind some State houses at Avondale on Tuesday, but subsequent examination by a pathologist suggested that they had been buried for many years. With the discovery of the jawbone the search for other bones began but beyond a l'ew small bones, the largest not more than six inches long and all discoloured, the searchers were unrewarded.
