Chinese Magician
APPEARANCE IN PALMERSTON NORTH The noted Chinese magician Chang will soon present his coffipany of variety performers in Palmerston North. Appearing with the company for the first time after successful seasons at London and Continental variety theatres are two acrobatic balancers, Watton and Alurray, who have taken their audiences by storm, in a sensational specialty act of a novel character. The main features of the turn are dexterous juggling feats performed by one of the partners while precariously balanced on a board, the centre of which is laid across a large roller placed on a table, the board becoming in fact a continually moving seesaw. Amazing feats without losing his balance are the performer’s preludes to the highlight of his act. This consists of balancing his partner as the latter climbs up to his shoulders and there stands erect for several moments before climbing down again to the table.
