Changeable and Windy Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A vigorous westerly depression has just crossed the South Island. An anticyclone still covers south-eastern Australia. Winds: Between west and south, light to moderate in the far north, elsewhere moderate to strong and in places reaching gale force, but decreasing tomorrow. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Aloderate to strong west to south-west winds, rather rough to rough seas. Weather: Still rather changeable with rain at times in most districts, but principally those with a westerly aspect and the southern portion of the South Island. Temperatures cool.
