CHILD WITH GRIT OFTEN GETS FURTHER Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. Stressing the importance of vocational guidance in the course of his annual address at the New Zealand Technical Schoolteachers’ Association Conference, the president, Mr. G. W. C. Drake, stated that some pupils had a greater aptitude for their studies than others, but vocational guidance had shown that a pupil’s attitude to hia studies was of great importance and should receive the attention of the teacher.

It had been found that a child without marked aptitude but with determination and force of character would develop his talents under proper direction and outstrip the student with aptitude for some particular study but who was lacking in purpose.
