Chrysanthemum Show Next Saturday

Lovers of flowers and gardeners (and these must be numerous, judging by the beautiful surroundings of residences in all parts of the city) arc reminded of the chrysanthemum show to be held in the Empire Hall on Saturday next. There are many “Mum’’ enthusiasts, and these will have an opportunity of comparing blooms and discussing methods of cultivation, etc. One of the attractions will be the display of chrysanthemum plants grown in any receptacle. Last year this class attracted many entries, but indications are there will be a record number this year. Exhibitors are expected from Wanganui, Marton, Hastings and the surrounding districts. The secretary will be at the hall on Friday evening from 7 p.m. to receive entries.
