Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclone still covers the Dominion but the centre is to the east and pressure is falling under the influence of a depression which is advancing slowly across the Tasman Sea. Winds: Northerly to north-westerly prevailing light to moderate at first but freshening especially about and south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate but rising in the southwest and south and about Cook Strait. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate but freshening northerly winds, seas slight to moderate but rising in the central and southern portions. Weather: Mainly fair to line at first but cloudy to overcast in western dis- , tricts with scattered rain in those of the South Island. Rain gradually becoming more widespread over western and southern districts. Temperatures YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland; Overcast, light breeze. Hamilton: Sun and cloud, calm. New Plymouth: Overcast, light breeze. Gisborne: Sunshine, light*breeze. Napier: Sun and cloud, light breeze. Palmerston North: Cloudy, light breeze. Palmerston North: Cloudy, light breeze. Masterton: Sun and cloud, light breeze. Wellington: Overcast, moderate wind. Blenheim: Sun and cloud, light wind. Nelson: Cloudy, calm. West Coast: Overcast, light wind.
