ENTHUSIASTIC FINALE TO EASTER CONFERENCE Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. A motion expressing appreciation of the manner in which the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage), Members of Cabinet, and other members of the Parliamentary Labour Party had implemented tho party’s policy during the past year, and pledging its unswerving loyalty and support during the coming year, was carried by acclamation at tho closing session of the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Part in Wellington to-day. The conference which opened on Monday, closed shortly before 5 o’clock this afternoon with the singing of “Auld Lang Sync,” followed by three cheers for the Labour movement and a further three for the Prime Minister. Mr. Savage and most of the Members of Cabinet were present. Motions of thanks to the president (Mr. James Roberts), national secretary (Hon. D. Wilson, M.L.C.), the conference officers and the national executive, were carried to the accompaniment of musical honours. extended. On the motion of a Maori delegate, the conference passed a vote of confidence in tho Prime Minister and the Government and expressing appreciation of the benefits received by the Maori race during Labour’s term of office. All remits of an industrial character were refer.ed to the cxecuthe of tho Federation of Labour for consideration. The federation’s report on them, after discussion, was referred to the joint executives of the federation and party. Mr. W. K. Spence, general secretary of the National Union of Seamen of Great Britain, addressed the conference and conveyed fraternal greetings on behalf of his union and the British Labour Party.
