inspector Keuyon knew it would have beeu IMPOSSIBLE for the kidnapper (or anyone else) to have climbed UP or DOWN the twenty-five foot ladder Standing in the flower bed only TWO FEET from the house. Gravity would, of course, have pulled a climber backward and thrown him to the ground. Thus, Kenyon knew the ladder had been planted to suggest an outside job. The chauffeur was the inside accomplice. His careless oversight sent him to the electric chair.
