From Our Own Correscondeot W.D.F.U. The monthy meeting of the W.D.F.U on Wednesday evening was presided over by Mrs P. Cook, president, the attendant being fair. The following new members were proposed: Mesdames C. A. Spring. J Newth, L. Sanson and Miss Spring, all of Moutoa. The matter of taking a W.K.A coarse at their meetings was discussed, but no finality reached. It was decided that each member would take a turn at arranging the programme for each meeting. Mrs C. Guerin offered to donate a points prize for the year for the monthly best bloom competition. At the conclusion of Mrs Cook, on behalf of the members, presented the late secretary. Mrs Mullins, w ith a coffee set. She remarked that Mrs Mullins had been a competent secretary, and they were sorry that she was unable to carry on. The gift was a memento of the time Mrs Mullins had spent with them as secretary. Mrs C. Guerin, as the oldest member, made a presentation of a Jam spoon to Mrs Cook in recognition of her services as president during the past year. The recipients of the presentations both returned thanks. The members of the Fanners* Union then Joined the ladies at supper. Social Afternoon. Mrs W. F. Pope and Mrs H. G. Deng Ward were hostesses last Wednesday at the monthly social afternoon arranged by members of the Anglican Church social committee. As a chance from the usual procedure, euchre was played, followed by a conversazione during which afternoon tea was served at tables bright wfih orange nasturtiums, Iceland |»oppies and Michaelmas daisies. Bible Class. There was an attendance of 26 at the annual meeting of the Anglican Bible Class, which was presided over by Rev. E. W. Burgin. It was reported that the membership now stood at 32. and attendance at weekly meetings had been uniformly good. Rallies had been held at Levin, Foxton and Shannon during the year. The election of officers resulted as follows; Secretary, Dougles Leng Ward; treasurer. Nena Clough; trustees, secretary and treasurer; committee, Douglas Leng Ward, Cyril Graham, Douglas Pedersen, Noel Richards. Ernest Chester. Nena Clough, Melva Pope, Heather Tucker and Mildred Pedersen.
