E. J. Darmer's Qualifications
DIRECTOR OF “STORM OVER BENGAL” (Meteor: Screening Friday.) Educated in a military college in India, and having served two years in India with one of the most picturesque of British army units, the 36th Jacobs Horse, 11th Cavalry Brigade, Captain E. J. Danner was well qualified to act as technical director of the Republic adventure spectacle, “Storm Over Bengal.”
Patric Knowles, Richard Cromwell, Rochelle Hudson, Colin Tapley, Douglas Dumbrillc, and Ilalliwell Hobbes head the cast of “Storm Over Bengal. ’ * The 80th Jacobs Horse regiment consists of a squadron of Sikhs, a Squadron of Patahus, two squadrons of Punjabi Mussulmcn, Indian sub-officers, and British officers. This daredevil unit served with distinction on the battlefields of France in the Great War.
Following service in Palestine, where the group was stationed first at Tiberius and then Sirons, near Tcl-Aviv, in 1920. tho cavalry brigado was sent to Bombay, then into the interior of India.
At the completion of two years service in India, Captain Darmer was retired, and has since travelled over tho world. The Captain worked on “Storm Over Bengal” from its inception, with Associate Producer Armand Schaefer, screen-writer Garrett Fort, and Art Director John Victor Mackey, to insure absolute accuracy in this thrilling tale of adventure with the British Army in Northwest India.
