Waituna West
From Our Own Correspondent. A well-attended social afternoon was held recently to make a presentation to Miss May England, who is to be married shortly. The hall was decorated with pink dahlias and autumn foliage, while small vases of mauve crocuses and maidenhair l'ern completed the effect. Competitions were won by Mrs Ivor Shannon and Miss K. England. Miss Shannon Shannon, on behalf of tho«e present, handed Miss England a large number of useful gifts, wishing her prosperity and happiness in her married life. Miss England responded and was accorded musical honours. Among those present were Misses E. Shannon, IT.l T . Shannon, T. Old, N. Old, K. England, Manner, Guy Lee, R. Davie, K. Minson, M. England, Whitehead, England, Mesdames A. E. Shannon, J. Old, M. England, S. Coleman, J. England, W. D. Johnson, Green, E. G. England, C. Leicester, Ivor Shannon, E. Pearce, G. England, C. Pollard, Palmer, J. Whitehead, F. England, T. D. Stokes. Mr and Mrs T. Tuohy and their nephew, Stewart Walker, Waituna West, are on a holiday at Paraparaumu beach.
