Mr. Colin Tapley, formerly of Dunedin, left Auckland by the Mariposa on his return to Hollywood.
Dr. Welby Fisher, medical superintendent of the Taumarunui Hospital, returned by the Aorangi after a visit to Fiji. Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrinsvilie, who has been visiting England, is returning by the Trojan Star, due at Auckland on Thursday. The Archbishop of Canterbury has been advised to take some weeks’ complete rest and change this month, states a British Official Wireless message.
Captain It. F. H. Stuart-French, whose term as aide-de-camp to the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, has concluded, left by the Mariposa on his return to England.
Rev. Father C. O’Connor and Rev. Brother D. Leigh, members of the Order of Franciscan Friars, arrived from Sydney by the Mariposa to undertake work in the Onehunga district. Colonel Arnold Candy, a well-known grazier and breeder of stud stock in Victoria, was a through passenger for San Francisco by the Mariposa. With Mrs. Candy he is making a holiday tour of the world.
A cablegram from London states that Mrs. W. J. Jordan, wife of the New Zealand High Commissioner, has left hospital. She has made a good recovery since undergoing an operation on March 7.
Mr. A. 1. Johns, of Auckland, general manager of tho New Zealand Insurance Company, Limited, returned by the Aofangi ffbm Vancouver after an extended business trip abroad. He visited England and Europo and later travelled in the East.
