From Our Own Correspondent. Hawkestone Golf Club. _ The annual meeting of the Hawkestone Loir Club was held on Friday evening, Sir .1. A. Bush presiding over a good attendance of members. The president (Mr J. A. Bush), in his report, stated that during the season the club was advised that the area known as the long paddock had been sold, and unfortunately the committee was unable to reach a satisfactory agreement with the new owner, and the club had therefore had to look for new grounds. The committee was successful in completing a lease for ten years with Mr W. G. Aitken and the club will open the season on the new course on Calico Line. During the year matches were played with the Marton, Castlecliff and Mangaweka Clubs. The club was successful in retaining the Itofe Cup from Mangaweka, but lost to Marton and CastleclifL’. The following are the results of the various competitions: President’s Cup, Miami Mrs Morrow; senior cha.fnpionshTp, Mr D. Abel; Intermediate, Air R. McDonald; junior, Mr B. £>. Fisher; captain’s prize, Mr. B. Morrow; Hawkestone handicap, B. D. Fisher; J. Jolley button, at present held by R. McDonald. The following officers were elected: President. Mr J. A. Bush; vice-presidents, Messrs T. A. WilfcOn and 1-1. C. GrOnn; captain, Mf j. Clarke; vice-captain, Mr A. Grade; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Kendrick; handicapper, Mr R. Wilson; committee, Messrs E. Frogelberg, J. Kendrick, D. Abel, T. Mensforth, R. McDonald, K. Fowler and officers ex-omcio; ground supervisor, Mr J. Kendrick.. The question of opening day was left to the committee. It was decided to obtain the services of a professional to lay out the new course. Misses W. Wales, M. Staples, Messrs F. Tolley and T.
