Story of French Foreign Legion
“TROUBLE IN MOROCCO” STARS JACK HOLT (Kosy: Screening To-day.) “Trouble in Morocco” presents Jack Holt at his best in a ripping story of the French Foreign Legion, Paul Cluett foreign news correspondent for an American syndicate, meets a rival of long standing, Linda Lawrence, in Paris, and tricks her into revealing that she is en route to Morocco to cover exclusively a big gun-smug-gling story. Cluett takes Linda’s pass port so that she cannot follow him too closely, and leaves for Africa.
On arriving in the city of Fez, Cluett gets into a mess almost immediately when, after vainly attempting to glean information from the Legion officers he falls in with an ex-gangster who is serving a hitch as a private in the Legion. The Legionnaire drugs Cluett, exchanges clothes with him, steals his money, and deserts. Cluett finds himself literally snanghied into the French Foreign Legion. Linda arrives on the scene and spitefully refuses to identify him. Cluett is forced to remain a Legionnaire What happens when Cluett takes up with tho smugglers in an attempt to leave the Legion, and how he “breaks” the story with Linda finally helping him, make for thrilling screen fare.
