JOHNSONVILLE SALE Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. and Abraham and Williams Ltd., report on Johnsonville sale as follows: Wo offered a small yarding of cattle and an average yarding of sheep. The bullocks penned comprised prime medium weight and heavy weight cattle. No light weight bullocks came forward. Prime heavy weight bullocks met with no alteration while medium weight cattle were easier to the extent of 5s per head. The yarding of cows and heifers was of indifferent quality, only a few pens of prime cows came forward. Competition for prime quality cattle was keen with no alteration, while light weight and unfinished cows were 5s to 7s 6d per head easier on last week’s rate. A good sale resulted for all classes of runners with no alteration in prices. No heavy wethers came forward, the penning comprising chiefly light weight Romney wethers and several pens of black faeod 2-tootlis. The bidding was keen for all prime quality sheep, while unfinished and plain wethers were not sought after. The yarding of ewes was of exceptionally good quality, a good sale resulting for all classes. With tho exception of a few pens the quality of lambs was not up to the usual standard. A keen sale resulted for prime quality lambs while plain sorts were hard to sell. We quote:— Prime extra heavy bullocks, £l4 10s to £l3 15s; prime heavy bullocks, £l3 10s dowu to £l2 16s; heavy bullocks, £l2 10 to £ll 12s 6d; extra prime heavy cow's and heifers, £7 15s to £7; prime heavy cow's and heifers, £6 16s to £6; cows and heifers, £5 15s to £5 ss; runners and vealers, £4 dowm to £2 8s; small calves, 21s to 15s; prime extra heavy wethers, 21s 9d to 20s 6d; prime heavy wethers, 20s 3d to 19s 3d: medium wethers, 18s 9d to 18s; prime extra heavy ewes, 14s to 12s 7d; prime heavy ewes, 12s 3d to 10s 6d; medium ewes, 10s 3d to 9s; heavy spring lambs, 21s 9d to 20s 2d; medium spring lambs, 18s 6d to 17s; light spring lambs, 16s 6d to 14s 6d.
