An application before Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., at the Feilding Magistrate ’s Court yesterday by Ainslie Bertram Charles Dunstone, for a certificate enabling him to take over the license of the Station Hotel, Hunterville, was granted. Thefts from Feilding shops on Christmas Eve had their sequel at a sitting of the Children’s Court at Feilding yesterday when two young boys were admonished and placed under the supervision of the child welfare officer for six months. Toy pistols and autograph books were among the articles purloined by these boys as they visited the shops during the rush hours. In the final of the Oroua Croquet Club’s B grade doubles on Saturday, Mesdames Ivnight and Alsop defeated Mesdames Bowles and Collier by 26 points to 10. The A grade championship is to be decided on Saturday next.
The funeral of the late Mr. Alfred J. Rankin, of Monmouth Street, topk place at the Feilding Cemetery on Sunday, the cortege comprising some forty cars. Services at the residence and at the cemetery were conducted by Rev. Father Broughton, of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church.
