KOPANE lustead of the usual annual picnic the members of the Kopane Women's Institute spent part of the afternoon with Mr. Shailer, of Palmerston North, amongst tho dahlias. Some gorgeous blooms were on display, but the majority of the dahlias w r ere not out, owing to the very dry weather. Members were invited back again in about three weeks’ time to see them at their best. Afternoon tea was partaken of at the Rosco tea-rooms. At a suitable juncture Mrs. Russell asked Mrs. Martin to accept a small token on account of her leaving on a visit to England, and wished her bon voyage on behalf of tho members. Mrs. Martin suitably replied.
