Effect of Imports Regulations On Book Purchases

LIBRARIES TO ASK MINISTER FOR SPECIAL LATITUDE The working of the imports entry regulations insofar as they affect libraries was discussed at length in committee by the annual conference of the New Zealand Library Association in Palmerston North yesterday. It was decided to approach the Minister of Customs in an endeavour to obtain special latitude for public libraries in their imports of books, periodicals and newspapers, in order that the people might not be deprived of all opportunity of referring to such material.
