From Our Own Correspondent. A. meeting of th© committee of the Foxton High School Old r*uplls a Association was held last Saturday evening. A motion of sympathy was accoroea Miss M Symons (vice-president) and Mr W. B. Symons in the loss they had sustained in their sad bereavement, members stand* ing as a mark of respect. A discussion ensued in connection with the picnic, it being reported that a successful and eir joyabje day had resulted. A suggestion to hold another picnic was unanimously agreed to, and it was decided to Pnalise arrangements at a meeting of the commit

tee at an early date. It was also decided to hold a dance early next month, final arrangements being held over until the next meeting. Personal, Mrs A. J. Anderson, of Wellington, Is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs S. E. Cowley. The friends of Miss G. Ne.vlon, Fa trick Street, will regret to learn that she is at present, an inmate of tile Palmerston North Hospital, and her condition is causing her relatives some concern. Mr and Mrs T. Kane left Foxton during ♦ he week-end on a motor tour of . the North. In his capacity as president of the New Zealand Teachers’ Institute, Air Kane will visit Wairoa, Ruatoria, Opotiki. Tauranga, Te Aroha, Hamilton. Thames, and Rotorua, conducting addresses to In

stitut© members in each of these centres. Air and Mrs Kane will be accompanied b.V the secretary of the Institute and anticipate b?ing away a fortnight.
