MRS. SARAH ANN JACKMAN, AGED 96 YEARS The death occourred at Feilding yesterday of Mrs. Sarah Ann Jackman, widow of the late Mr. Edward Jackman, at the advanced age of 96 years. The deceased was a very well-known figure in the Feilding district having resided in Warwick Street for the past 32 years and had lived in the Feilding district for over 60 years. Born in Chatham, Kent, England, where she married, the late Mrs. Jackman and her husband travelled to New Zealand, arriving over 60 years ago to take up residence in Awahuri. Her husband was for many years custodian of the Feilding Jockey Club. The deceased was of a cheerful disposition and well known, but lived quite a retiring life. She passed away peacefully. She is survived by two sons, Messrs. Edward and Joseph, of Feilding, and two daughters, one of whom, Mrs. T. Lammas, resides in Feilding, and the other, Mrs. Stevens, at Sumner, Christchurch. MR. A. G. FIDLER The death occurred tragically yesterday of Mr. Alfred George Fidler, a very well-known and popular figure in Feilding, at the age of 58 years. Deceased, who was a married man with a family, resided at West Street, Feilding. He had resided in the town for the greater part of his life and for the past 20 years or more was storeman for Barraud and Abraham.
