Hides and Sheepskins Sale
Murray Roberts and Co. report: The market showed little change at our hide and sheepskin sale held to-day. Competition for sheepskins was animated and prices were very firm —good parcels being a farthing to a halfpenny better than last sale. All weights of ex eased by a farthing, while cow hides met with a better demand and were a shade firmer. Yearling kip and calf were unchanged. The range of prices is as follows: Dry sheepskins: Half bred, 7d to 7ld; fine Xbred, 6d to 7Jd; medium Xbred, s|d to 7id; coarse Xbred, 5Ad to 7d; half wools, 5d to 7id; quarter wools, 4d to 5Jd; pelts, 2jd to 4d. Hides: Ox, 331 b. to 441 b., 4£d to 5 I-8d; ox. 45/52, 34d to 5 7-8 d; ox, 53/59, 4d to 6 l-8d; ox, 60/69, 4d to 6 3-Sd; ox, 701 b. and over, 34d to 6 3-8 d; cow, 33/39, 3 3-Sd to 5 ::-8d; cow, 40/48, 4 3-8 d to 5 3-Sd; cow, 491 b. and over, 4 3-Sd to sid; kip, 25/32, 4 5-8 d to 6£d; kip, 17/24, 3d to 7ld; yrlg., 11/16, 3*d to 8 l-8d; calf, 9/10, 6 7-8 d to 8d; calf, 6/8, 7d to 10Id; calf, 1/5, 5d to 10 7-Bd. Sundries: Cow tails, Sid to 91d; horse hair, 7d to 20Id.
