No Respite Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. Last Night. An exceptionally deep depression remains centred to the east of Otago while pressure has risen considcrably over Tasmania. Winds: North-westerly at first on some parts of the East Coast but between west and south soon becoming general. Force strong to gale generally with heavy gales in many places south of the Auckland district. Seas (New Zealand waters)* Rough to high. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-westerly winds fresh to strong in the northern portion with rough seas and reaching whole gale i’oico at times m the southern portion, with very high seas. Weather: Stormy and changeable generally with heavy showers extending to most parts of the Dominion. Some thunder and hail probable and snow on parts of the high country in the South Island. Temperatures becoming cold. YESTERDAY’S WEATHER Auckland: Cloudy, hazy and windy. Hamilton: Cloudy and windy. New Plymouth: Cloudy, showery and very windy. Gisborne: Cloudy and windy. Napier: Cloud and sunshine, verywindy. Palmerston North: Cloudy, very strong wind. Masterton: Intermittent rain, strong wind. Wellington: Cloud and sunshine, strong wind. Blenheim: Cloud and sunshine, gale. Nelson; Cloudy and raining, little wind. West Coast: Overcast, heavy rain and sleet, very strong wind. Christchurch: Overcast and windy.
