A Slight Frost

1£ DEGREES RECORDED ON TUESDAY NIGHT

A report from the Pahiatua observatory indicates that there were lideg. of frost in Pahiatua on Tuesday night, a temperature of 2S.Bdeg. having been recorded on the grass. Although freezing point on the Fahrenheit scale is 32deg., frost does not being to show until as low as 30.3 deg. The minimum shade temperature during the night, taken four feet above the ground, was 35deg. The frost was only a slight one and did no damage to young plants, at least three degrees being necessary to have any effect in their way. Yesterday was a perfect one in Pahiatua, the sun having good strength in its rays.
