Elderly Woman Sent to Prison
GUILTY OF ARSON Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 3. In the Supremo Court to-day, Mr. Justice Kennedy sentenced Markelline Isabet Costumiere, of Gore, to six weeks’ imprisonment. She had been found guilty of arson. In passing sentence the judgo said he had taken into account the state of the prisoner’s health and age, which was stated by her counsel to bo 70. He had also given full effect to the jury’s recommendation.
