Concert by Local Artists

That musicians should be not without honour even in their own city is the belief of the Palmerston North branch of the British Music Society. The first three concerts of the season have been presented by outstanding artists from this centre. The fourth concert, to be given to-morrow evening in the Rosco tearooms, is made up of items by artists from Palmerston North. A very fine programme of vocal and instrumental music has been arranged. Mr. G. H. Greenaway, who recently sang over the radio from IYA, will be heard in two interesting numbers. Miss Joan Paton will play a ’cello solo, “Melody,” by Budge, and Miss D. Southey-Baker will lead a concerted item for four stringed instruments, and will also play some solo items. It is hoped that the musicloving public of Palmerston North will appear in large number to hear the concert. The proceeds are in aid of the Alan Loveday fund.
