Health Camp Association '

MAN AWATU DISTRICT EXECUTIVE A meeting of tho Manawatu District Executive of the Now Zealand Federaation of Health Camps was held on Tuesday, there being present tho Mayoi (Mr A. E. Mansford), Mcsdamcs Mansford and H. Palmer, Nurse Crorabi© (Department of Health), Col. J. H. Whyte, Messrs G. Clark (Chief Postmaster), JR. Allison and G. G. Driest (hon. secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames H. P. Horne (Woodville), J. Aitchison and Messrs C. H. Tate (Feilding), E. W. Barnett (HalcombO), A. Semple (Shannon), W. G. Black, Dr. Cook and tho Sanson committee. The secretary reported that, whilo the progress of the Otalci Health Camp had been interrupted owing to measles and chickenpox, twenty-eight children had been admitted from tho district during the past four montji!?. Twentyeight children wore awaiting admission

to tho camp, and the next draft would go to Otaki on October 11. The ladies of St. John's Ambulance Association had kindly consented to provide escorts for children travelling to Otaki. Tho Dominion Advisory Board had approved of improvements at the Otaki Health Camp from tho capital funds created by the King George V Mem orial fund, and this camp was now regarded as tho main camp to meet tha requirements of the Wellington province. The district under tho jurisdiction of the Manawatu executive is very extensive, and only ten children rn winter, and fifteen in summer, can be admitted to each camp period of six Weeks. It was hoped that local committees or district nurses would sent, in names of children as they heard ol them, so that arrangements for admission to camp could be facilitated. The director-general of tho P. and T. department advised that the annual sales of health stamps would begin ou October 1. It was decided that the executive should organise an appeal to encourage the public to purchase tne stamps, which would be offered tor

sale in the business portions of the city by ladiea on October 6. It was also decided to remind the public that the sale of such stamps constitutes the main source from which the cost ot maintaining children at the Otaki • health camp is derived.
