Young Couple Honoured
PRESENTATION FROM HOCKEY PLAYERS In view of their approaching marriage Mr. A. T. Walker and Miss Lorraine Fuller were the guests of honour at a complimentary social held in the Odd Fellows hall on Tuesday evening. The function had been arranged by Mrs. Watkins and Messrs L. Watkins and R. Christianson. There was a good number of friends present and a programme of dancing to music supplied by Mr. J. McCauley was enjoyed. Mr. R. McNeil played an extra. A lucky spot oncstep was won by Mr. K. Henson and Miss Mavis Hardy. Miss Doreen and Master Trevor Watkins gave an exhibition tap duo which was much appreciated. As a kitchen evening for tho brideelect the occasion was also successful and thero was a largo number of useful gifts. Opportunity was afforded to Air. J. T. Thorne, vice-president of the Woodville Hockey Club, to make a presentation to Air. “Bert” Walker from his club mates who recognised ms worth on the field and his many lino sporting qualities. Air. Homo thanked those who arranged tho evening for allowing him to make the presentation, and he oxpressod the hope that tho future of tho young couple would be bright and happy. The gift from the hockey members was a finely wrought brass firescreen. Air. S. E. Worboys called on the hockey players present to give three cheers which was heartily done and musical honours were accorded the young couple. Air. Walker then returned thanks for all the gifts and tithe organisers of the party. The evening concluded ht a late ho:
