VAN DRIVER GETS THREE MONTHS Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. For failure to account for money amounting to £32 14s 6d, Lancelot Exley Cathro, 41 years of age, a van driver, was sentenced to three months’ hard labour in tbo Magistrate’s Court this morning. It was stated that Cathro was employed by the Wellington Dry Cleaning Company, and in March of this year ’t was discovered he had misappropriated £Bl 3s 6d. An arrangement was made whereby he was to refund somo of the money each week. Up to the time of the I discovery of a further series of defalcaj tions, he had refunded £44. The total thefts amounted to £ll3 38s. | Ihe Magistrate, Mr. J. L. Stout said ! that he did not think it was a case for ; probation. The thefts were too systematic.
