Scattered Rain Developing
WELLINGTON, Last Night,
An anti-cyclone of slight intensity extends from the north of New Zealand across the North Island and off the East Coast of the South. A shallow depression is approaching across the south Tasman. Winds: Light and variable at first over the North Island; otherwise light to moderate northerlies predominating and later freshening about and south ot Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Slight to moderate but later rising somewhat in the Cook and Foveaux Strait areas. Eastern Tasman: Light to moderate northerly to north-westerly winds freshening and later turning westerly in western parts. Seas slight to moderate. Weather: Fair to fine at first but clouding over and scattered rains developing in western and southern portions of the South Island. Temperatures cool with some frosts and morning fogs.
