From Our Own Correspondent. Gift Evening. A gift evening was rendered Air and Airs C. McKenzie on Monday of last week, und in spite of the function having been post poned on several occasions the district wns well represented. Dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Messrs T. K. McLean, W. Cawood and D. W. llogau, with games and competitions at intervals. Mr J. B. Pettigrew, on behalf of those present, asked Mr and Mrs McKenzie to accept the gifts assembled with all good wishes for tnelr lutuie happiness. The young couplo were both well known In the. district and their future home will be In Apiti. Air C. McKenzie thanked those present for tho gifts and good wishes They were then accorded musical honours. Mr W. Martin supplied musical items, Miss E. Jensen recited and MrsKilgour played tho accompaniments for fc community sing. A competition was won by Alisa A. Kearney. Pe. sonal. Masters Norman and Leslie Hays, o£g| Feilding. spent the school vacation Air and Mrs W, Jenscen. Mr and Mrs J. B, Pettigrew have their grandsons, Masters Jimmy and Robbie Johnson, of Feilding, staying with them. -urs Aiiller has as her guest Miss Barrett, of Kiwitea, and also her granddaughter, Janet Curtis. Church Social. Tho Presbyterian Cnurch held a social on Thursday evening, there being a good attendanco lrora surrounding districts and a pleasant time was spent by all present. Musical items were rendered by Miss V. Hogan, Mr W. Martin, Master Norman Hays, Mr B. Miller and Master Leslie Hays. A charade was presented by Messrs P. Miller W. Alartln, J. McKenzie and W. Jensen. Competitions were won by Airs Kilgour and Mr 13. Waterson.
