Transport Licensing
AUTHORITY SITS IN PALMERSTON NORTH A sitting of No. 2 Transport Licensing Authority Avas held in Palmerston North yesterday, Mr. P. Skoglund presiding. A. T. Do Cleenc und J. B. Do Clccnc, both of Palmerston North, were granted licenses to carry for tho Public Works Department in the Kairanga county.
A. Rouse, of Foxton, was granted a license to carry flax and calves in tho Manawatu county. An application by H. E. Lush for a lieonso to run contract passenger trips to Levin, Waipukurau and Taihape was opposed by Mr. D. P. Smillie, representing tho Madgo motor service, who claimed that there were alroady sufficient licensed vehicles to cater for the Avork. Tho application was adjourned until tho next sitting to permit of tho calling of evidence by the applicant. D. R. Rutherford Avas granted a license for contract passenger trips anyAvhero under tho jurisdiction of No. 2 Licensing Authority, the same schedule of fares to be used as that by the Madge Company.
