WANGANUI BEAT MANAWATU Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Last Night. The women's hockey tournament was continued in showery weather. The ground was slippery after heavy weekend rain. Eastern Southland disposed of their toughest opposition in the B section by rattling on four goals in the second half against Auckland. Eastern Southland and Taranaki lead in the B section. Canterbury has a three point load iu the C section and Ashburton is one point ahead of Wanganui in the A section. Results: — A Section: Ashburton 3, Hawkes Bay 2; Wanganui 3, Manawatu 1. B Section: Eastern Southland 4, Auckland nil; Taranaki 2, Wellington 1; Poverty Bay B 3, Ruahine nil. C Section: Canterbury 8, Nelson nil; Fcilding 2, Akitio 2.
