U Scott Appeal Case

STAKE MONEY TO GO TO OWNER WILL BE PAID TO R.S.A, Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The stake money involved in the U Bcott-Pot Luck appeal case will go to the owner of U Scott, against whom an appeal was entered. This was indicated by Mr. J. H. Williams, president of the New Zealand Trotting Association, in a short statement to the Press. The appeal arose over the running ol one of the events in the inter-Dominion championship meeting last Easter. The case finally went to three appeal judges. The result of the decision of the authorities means that the net stake money of £427 15s fid will go to the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association for distribution along lines laid out by Mr. J. R. McKenzie, owner of U Scott, who, after the appeal had been lodged, wrote to the association announcing that if he won the appeal the stake money would be given for that purpose.
