History of Bebbington Shield
HELD BY BUSp SINCE 1934 With last Saturday’s win Bush have now successfully held the Bebbington Shield for 11 consecutive games since 1934. The Bebbington Challenge Shield was presented in 1922 by Mr. J. Bebfcington, then of Palmerston North, ana now of Otaki, and was for competition between the Horowhenua Union, Busn Union, Rangitikei Sub-Union, Oroua Sub-Union and the Dannevirke SubUnion. The Horowhenua Rugby Union was the first holder. Bush have held the shield 24 times since the competi tion started. The following is a list of games played for the shield and the results:— 1922.
