Another Safe Taken
Contained Little Cash But All Finn’s Books
MOTOR ENGINEERS* PREMISES FORCIBLY ENTERED
Some weeks ago the premises of a Palmerston North auctioneering firm were forcibly entered and the safe was removed and transported out into the country, where it was opened and subsequently buried. The men responsible for that work were apprehended and dealt with at the recent sitting of the Supreme Court. On Thursday night tile premises of Messrs Buglass and Brewer, motor engineers, of Taonui street, Palmerston North, were entered and the safe was removed from the office and taken to a place as yet unknown.
The intruders smashed ono of the back windows and effected an entry. The safe, which would require at least two men to carry it, was then taken away through the bacit door. The burglary was discovered at 8 a.m. yesterday morning when the premises were opened for the day's work. The raiders will get little from the safe for their night’s work because it contained only a small sum in cash. Though the cash loss is only a trifling one, the firm’s ledgers and other books relating to the business operations were in the safe, and until these are discovered and returned the firm will be put to considerable inconvenience.
