JOHNSONVILLE SALE Messrs Wriglit, Stephenson and Co. Ltd. and Abraham and Williams Ltd., report on Johmsonvillo sale held on Wednesday, August 4 as follows: To the usual attendance of buyers W 3 offered an average yarding of cattle and a large yarding of sheep. The bullocks yarded comprised chiefly good medium weight and light bullocks. There were a few pens of light and unfinished sorts met with, no alteration. There were a few pens of good heavy weight cows and heifers with fervent competition throughout, with lighter sorts selling well at late rates. No runners and vealers came forward. There was a good yarding of wethers, these selling well at late rates. Thu yarding of ewes comprised chiefly heavy and extra weight sheep. These met with good competition at prices showing a firming tendency. A few pens of hoggets came forward, prices showing a alteration. We quote:—

Prime heavy bullocks, £l4 5s down to £l3; heavy bullocks, £l2 15s down to £l.l 15s; light and unfinished bullocks, £ll 2s 6d to £10; extra prime heavy cows and heifers, £7 6s to £8 10s; prime heavy cows and heifers, £8 10s to £7 15s ; cows and heifers, £7 10s to £6 10s; prime extra heavy wethers, 30s; prime heavy wethers, 28s 6d to 275; medium wethers, 27s to 265; prime extra heavy ewes, 22s fid; prime heavy ewes, 21s 6d to 20s; medium ewes, 19s to 17s; heavy hoggets, 22s Cd; light hoggets, 20s to 18s. BULLS SALE Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale held on Monday last, when a medium yarding of cattle were forward, comprising principally good quality dairy heifers, which sold under keen competition, prices being fully on a par with recent yard sales. Only 12 head of fat cows and heifers were yarded. Values were firm and a goou sale resulted. The offering of 45 store pigs sold under keen competition, values showing an appreciation on recent sales. We quote:—Fat cows, £4 Is, £5 6s, £5 14s, £6; store cows, £2 10s to £3; dairy cows, £3 os, £4, £4 10s, £5 2s 6d, £5 ss, £6, £7 ss, £7 10s; dairy heifers, £7, £7 3s, £7 ss, £7 17s 6d, £B. Store pigs: 22s 6d, 245, 265, 345, 375, 41s. LEVIN SALE LEVIN, Aug. 3. There were larger yardings than usual in all sections at the Levin weekly stock sale yesterday. The offering of beef was of good quality, a large entry of first-class run cattle being keenly sought after. Store pigs also brought keen competition and prices showed a sharp advance. In all departments the sale was a brisk one, bringing full late rates. Messrs.
