EIOPANE ITh® monthly meeting was held at Mrs. Learmonth’s residence. Owing to the indisposition of the president (Mrs. Bussell) Mrs. Learmonth presided. I Apologies were received from Mrs. Bussell, Mrs. Prentice, Mrs. Morris, Mrs. ( Dawbin and Mrs. Meager. Mrs. Jones gave a very good report of the conference which was held in Wellington last week. Members were reminded of the group meeting to be held at Bangiotu on August 17. Invitations were received ' to the birthdays of Kairanga and CarL narvon. Miss Nutt addressed the meml bers on institute work in Somerset, which was keenly followed with inter- * est. Tho competition for shortbread re- " suited: Miss Boddy 1, Mrs. Learmonth 2, Mrs. Glasgow 3; juniors, Miss J. Glasgow 1, Miss L. Bussell 2. Best bloom: Mrs. Conwcll 1, Mrs. J. Glasgow 2, Mrs. Jones 3. The next meeting is to be held at Mrs. Conwell’s on August 24, and tho competitions will be:— Seniors, 1 egg cake; juniors, 3 plain scones. I
