Red Cross Society, for the formation of a branch in Woodville. The work has been enthusiastically undertaken by a strong committee under the presidency of the Mayor, Mr. R. R. Johnston. | On Monday evening the first class ' meeting of the ladies forming the | V.A.D. home nursing branch was held in the old band room. There was an attendance of between 30 and 40, who were instructed by Sister Canning on the general requirements of a sicii room, and who, at the request of Mr. T. McKenzie, demonstrated the application of a triangular bandage. Classes are to be held weekly on Monday evenings and it is cxpectei that a full complement of the necessary supplies will be available for use in the society’s quarters.
