Again tho conversion failed and half time sounded shortly afterwards with the blues leading 6—3. Continuing after the interval, Woodvilie kept their advantage without ' difficulty against tho tiring Old Boys. Kennedy’s nooking was restricted by a leg injury and the vv oodville backs saw more of the ball and used it well. Play had not long been in progress when McNeil kicked through and a scrum took place about five yards out. Maclean picked up, passed to McNeil, who : was held up on the line and returned the ball for the former to dive over between the posts. The heavy ball railed to rise.
Attacking again immediately from a long kick by Bussell, who secured from a set scrum and found the line close to the corner, Woodville scored again when Stewart secured and crossed the line without trouble. Sinclair’s kids missed.
Woodville came again with seemingly tireless forward rusu«#s, buT the ball, greasy from the fresh rain, was hard to handle, and kicking- too hard led to three or four force-aowns in succession. Forced back just past half-way the blue backs managed to handle again and McNeil kicked high, downfield, raced after it and scored a final try in the corner, just touching the ball before it rolled into touch behind, and beating the defenders for it.
Time sounded shortly after with Woodville attacking again, after a display and result which pleased the considerable gallery of supporters who had braved the weather to see tho match. Mr. A. Neville was the referee.
