From Our Own Correspondent. Miniature Rifle Club. At the weekly shoot of the local Aliniature Rifle Club, the following scores were registered; J. Alilligan 136, R. Matthews 136, A. Matthews 132, Al. Parkes 132, A. Dear 132, C. Hancock 130, V. Nix 131, T. Pitt 128, I. AlcKinnon 121, Al. Cocker 127, K. Alatthews 126, C. AlcKinnon 127, R. Aloore 123, J. AlcKinnon 121, J. Christian 120, G. Alexander 115, R. Aladsorx 116. Personal. Friends will be pleased to hear that Mr J. Oke, who has been sei'iously ill for several weeks, is slowly recovering and is now able to walk about a little. Betty Lucas, who has been in hospital for three weeks, has now returned home, and is making a good recovery. Aiiss R. Watson, of Ohau, has been the guest of Air and Mrs T. Conwell. Tho friends of Airs R. Terry learned with deep regret of the deuth of Air Terry, recently, and all will extend to her and her childrexx, sympathy in their bereavement. General. Aleasles, influenza and colds are very prevalent at the moment, many people being confined to bed with these complaints. Tho Awahuri branch of the Laboux Party is holding a euchre and dance on July 28. The committee is working hard to make it the function of tho year, and many will be attending from the surrounding districts. A really worth-while function is pi'omised. The orchestra of tho moment has been engaged for dancing, and euchre players will compete fox prizes well worth winning. Watch the "Times” for advertisements giving full particulars.
