Weed-end Matches GREGORIE CUP CHALLENGE Two inter-clnb matches between Woodville and Pahiatua were played during the week-end. The Woodville men, challenging for the Gregorie Cup, travelled to Pahiatua and their women members sent a team to compote on the local links. In trie cup match, played by the first nine in eacn team ot men, ir'aniatua witnstood the challenge by six games to three, but from an inter-cluu point of view honours were even, each team gaining seven games and halving one. The individual scores were:— W. J. Goodwin beat J. Richardson, 2 and I. R. L. Paterson beat J. G. Swainaon, 2 up. W. C. Grummitt lost to Donald, 3 and 2. F. D. Alaekie lost to Eglinton, 1 up. E. L. Wilson lost to Siddells, 5 and 4. H. Lagor lost to Judd, 4 and 3. R. Peebles lost to Morgan, 4 and 2. J. J. Young beat Howden, 3 and 2. E. Stitt lost to Taylor, 2 and 1. W. Barclay beat W. Darley, 4 and 3. W. J. Hawkes beat Boyens, 2 up. A. A. Wiley beat R. Mills, 1 up. E. Hutchinson lost to Timms, I up. R. R. Johnston beat Truscott, 3 and 2. J. Robertson halved with L. Donald.
